Whitewater kayaker tries to flip kayak in “Mary’s Pot Hole” on Oregon’s Rogue River. This fun drop/hole is a blast to go over–either in a kayak or inner tube. Watch how the kayaker paddles towards the hole and drops into it…and finally ends up in quieter water. This is known as a pool-and-drop river. In other words, you drop into a rapid and then ease out into calm water. Much of Oregon’s Rogue River is like this, making it incredibly fun to white water raft or kayak during the summer months.

Perhaps the greatest secret of the Rogue River canyon is its varied and abundant wildlife. You’ll get a change to see the majestic bald eagle, the curious river otter, the lumbering black bear, and the dainty whitetail deer while on your rafting, kayaking, and hiking trips with White Water Warehouse. Keep your eyes open because there is often a new pair of eyes staring back at you ’round each bend of the river! This video shows just a few of the unique animals of the Rogue River.
Whoop, whoop…we don’t normally toot our own horn but just received notification that White Water Warehouse was named a top “favorite place” on Google based upon Oregon Rogue River rafting, kayaking, and hiking reader searches over the last year. What a way to herald in the new year!

These historic photos from the OSU photo archives cracked us up. Labeled “people doing stuff” we couldn’t resist showing a few images here in our outdoor adventure blog. Photos captured folks doing their thing in various locations in southern Oregon. Makes you realize how long folks have been enjoying “stuff” in the great outdoors of Oregon….
An expert lead guide for White Water Warehouse oars through the infamous Mule Creek Canyon area of southern Oregon’s Rogue River while a WWW guest paddles behind him in an inflatable kayak. White Water Warehouse owner, Bob Meister, shoots video and narrates the moves from high above the river while hiking on the Rogue River trail.
